Cape Otway 150th Anniversary Program The Cape Otway Lighthouse, established in 1848, celebrates its 150th anniversary in August 1998. Celebrations are planned and this will include music, performance and most of all turning the old light back on.
The celebrations are being held in conjunction with the Olympics Arts Festival: "Sea Change". They will be held on Saturday 29th August, the exact anniversary of the establishment of the light 150 years ago.

| Displays of photographs and memorabilia related to the history of the lighthouse and lightstation will be in the historic buildings | |
| 1.30 - 3.30 pm | Theatre by Chance ... now you see them now you don’t Roving performances at various locations within the grounds

| 6.00 pm | Turn on the Light ... a performance on the Sea Change stage beside the Lighthouse compeered by Donald Walker.
|
| 7.30 - 10.00pm | Jazz Social ... with Gary Richardson's Colac Jazz Group. During this time night tours of the floodlit tower will be available. |

The Cape Otway Lighthouse was the oldest operational lighthouse with unbroken service on the mainland Australian coast until it was decommissioned in January 1994.
