Welcome everyone to the July/August 2005 edition of the Lighthouses of Australia Inc Bulletin
This Bulletin is packed full of news and stories about our lighthouses - some good news, like the Cape Don optic equipment being found and donated to the Queensland Maritime Museum; some bad news with the Tacking Point Lighthouse suffering more vandalism, and the relative inactivity in efforts to protect it from such damage.
This Bulletin contains many reports from around Australia - Christian Bell reports on the launch of the Friends of Tasman Island group, Lew Dickson tells of the CLS Reunion for 2005 held in Queensland.
Denise Shultz continues her narrative of her travels to Kangaroo Island's lighthouses, and part two of her Pharology 101 series is presented.
Important notices for readers are the festivities of International Lighthouses and Lightships Weekend on 20-21 August and the Lighthouses of Australia Inc Annual General Meeting on 12 September 2005.
LoA receives many letters, by email and post, and the Committee members who receive them endeavour to respond as soon as they can. Some of the letters received are documented in this Bulletin.
Enjoy this Bulletin, and I welcome your feedback - send your comments or suggestion to me via feedback@lighthouse.net.au.
We also hope that as ongoing Bulletin subscribers, those of you who are not members will take up the opportunity to join LoA Inc, and assist us the preservation of Australia's lighthouses.
