Point Moore Lighthouse - Mid West Heritage Series
Author: Gary Martin
Edited by Barbara Temperton
Publ: Geraldton Regional Library
ISBN: 978-0-9579473-4-4
A wonderful booklet, recently launched on November 7th in Geraldton, packed with information and images about not only the Point Moore Lighthouse at Geraldton, Western Australia, but also the earlier misplaced tower at Flagstaff Hill and the leading lights at Bluff Point. It contains a comprehensive list of the Keepers at Point Moore as well as plan drawings and archival photos showing the red and white banded tower when it still had a second balcony to service the fixed subsidiary red light.
The booklet can be purchased for $11.95 including postage, directly from the Geraldton Library by contacting barbarat@cgg.wa.gov.au
If you happen to be visiting Geraldton, after having visited the lighthouse of course, (sadly not open to the public) be sure to pop into the Library not only to pick up your own copy but also to go upstairs to the Local History section and ask to be shown the John Kelly files of research materials on Geraldtons' Lighthouses and the Library's own collection of Historic Photographs. Any light house enthusiast could easily lose a few hours buried in these documents while the rest of the family head off shopping or swimming.
