Commonwealth Lighthouse Service Reunion 2009

Johh Ibbotson and Ian Clifford telling stories.      Roly Carney (Brisbane Office) and Captain Michael
                                                 Sampson  (ex Lighthouse Vessels)

Attendees at this years reunion came from all areas of the service, lighthouses, depots, ships and administration.

Ian Cameron (ex Lighthouse Depot Supervisor NSW)
had the honours of cutting this years celebration cake.

This years reunion held at the Queensland Maritime Museum was a great success. A big thank you to Jack Duvoisin, Mike Stock and the rest of the team for putting on a great day. A number of interstate visitors made it this year including our great supporter of LoA John Ibbotson. John provided two of his fantastic books as a prize for whoever could guess the names of the lighthouse towers on this years cover of the AMSA Report.

John Sugarman from Australian Maritime Services kindly contributed towards the catering and tipples which were enjoyed by all.

Jack made a wonderful speech thanking all those who participated and read out the names of those 'mates' we lost in the last twelve months, four in all.

We look forward to next years celebration so make sure you keep an eye out for the announcement in 2010.

Cape Schanck Turns 150 years old.

Denise Schultz had the pleasure of attending the 150th anniversary of the lighting of Cape Schanck light.
