Hey. We are Lighthouse Church, a bunch of Central Coast locals who love Jesus and want to see others get to know him. We’d love to meet you one Sunday.
What to expect
Going to any new place can sometimes be daunting. We try and make church as welcoming and comfortable as possible, whatever your background. Church for us is pretty casual and relaxed, while still being structured enough to help us to focus on Jesus. If you’re coming for the first time, here’s what to expect.
You should be welcomed by someone at the front door, and they can answer any questions you might have about your first visit. You’ll notice that everyone is dressed pretty comfortably, in anything from t-shirts, shorts and thongs to semi-formal. How you dress is completely to you.
During church we sing (feel free to join in or just listen along); pray (someone up the front will do it, you don’t need to do anything); read the Bible (again, someone up the front will do it) and have it explained. Our Pastors do their best during the talk to unpack the spectacular relevance of all that God has done in an understandable and real way.
About half an hour into church we have a break where the kids head out to crèche (0-3) Kid’s Church (preschool – Year 5). Each group enjoys a mixture of games, singing, craft and Bible teaching that are age appropriate. We are blessed with many children, and have several different groups with a high ratio of trained teachers. Directions will be given so you will know where to take your kids. Many parents come back to Lighthouse because their kids loved Kid’s Church so much.
Later in our gathering, just before the Bible talk, youth head out to Youth Church (Year 6 – year 9).
At the end of our Church we invite everyone to stay around to have morning tea, including real coffee.
